‘Aloo ka paratha’ is made by joining two pieces of flatbread. The gap between the two bread pieces is filled with a spicy stuffing of boiled mashed potatoes. The paratha is fried on a hot pan (tawa) to make it crisp on the outside. This dish is very popular among the people of Middle Eastern and South Asian countries. Aloo kay parathas can be served for breakfast, as well as for lunch and dinner.
- Ingredients
- Potato (aloo): ½ kg
- Onion ( chopped): 1
- Green chilli ( chopped): 3-4
- Coriander leaves: a few
- Turmeric powder: ½ tablespoon
- Coriander powder: ½ spoon
- Black pepper: 1 teaspoon
- Garam masala (mixed herbs): ½ tablespoon
- Cumin seeds: ½ tablespoon
- Chilli flakes: 1 tablespoon
Steps to follow:
- Take the potatoes and boil them
- Mash them with the help of a masher or fork
- Then mix all the ingredients
- Take a ball of dough and fill it with potato stuffing
- Then with the help of a rolling pin flatten the ball
- Now heat the pan or griddle and grease it with the oil
- Put the paratha on the griddle and fry it until golden brown
- Serving
- Serve the paratha with green chutney or yoghurt

Mash the potatoes nicely because if we don’t it can tear up the paratha
