The Indian subcontinent, notably India and Pakistan, is where Naan Khatai originated. It’s a delicious biscuit using Dutch and Persian baking skills. Ghee, wheat, sugar, and cardamom are among the traditional components. Naan Khatai is a favourite delicacy with tea or coffee during festive occasions.
- Ingredients
- Icing sugar: 1 cup
- Ghee: 1 cup
- All-purpose flour: 1 cup
- Baking powder: 2 tablespoons
- Gram flour: 2 tablespoons
- Semolina: 2 tablespoons
Steps to follow:
- In a bowl take sugar and ghee, mix them well in with the help of a whisk.
- Then add the other ingredients and knead the dough.
- Let it rest in the refrigerator for 15 minutes.
- Then add vanilla essence to it and mix well.
- Take the dough and make a small circle of it.
- Apply egg yolk to the dough.
- Cook it for 15 minutes on medium to low flame.
Serving:
Serve it with tea.
