Peas potato or matar aloo is a vegetarian dish which rose to popularity from the Indian subcontinent. The dish contains aloo and matar which are cooked in a mildly creamy gravy that’s tomato based. This dish is very much liked by vegetarians, and is also popular among non-vegetarians – when they’re looking for a food twist. Matar aloo dish is very much prevalent in the South Asian countries, and people like to have this dish with roti (bread), and sometimes with rice.
- Ingredients
- Peas: 2 cups
- Potatoes: 4
- Onions: 2
- Tomato: 1
- Ginger garlic paste: 2 tablespoons
- Green chilli: 3
- Coriander leaves
- Oil: ½ cups
- Salt: 1 tablespoon
- Red chilli: 1 tablespoon
- Turmeric powder: 1 tablespoon
- Dry coriander powder: 1 tablespoon
- Cumin seeds: 1 tablespoon
- Cream: 3 tablespoon
Steps to follow:
- Add oil in a pan.
- Fry it for a few minutes.
- Now at ginger garlic paste.
- Add chopped tomatoes to it.
- Add all the dry spices in it then add some water and cover it for 2 to 3 minutes.
- Now add potatoes and peas to it.
- Then cook for some time and add cream to it.
- Now add water to it to make some gravy.
Serving:
Serve it with chapati.
